Clean Rugs Hawaii

Since we recently laid down COREtec luxury vinyl plank flooring, we pulled out two vintage 100% wool rugs that we had in storage from our former home to lay down.  To our surprise, our rugs had darkened because of being rolled up and had developed humidity spots even though our storage unit was air-conditioned.    I pulled out my trusty Yelp app to look for the best area rug cleaning specialists and came upon Whittco & Meiso, Inc.  They've been in business since 1984 and have been averaging 5-stars, and I felt confident with their work performance record. After determining the rugs' dimensions, I submitted an RFQ through the Yelp app on Wednesday late afternoon.  The following morning, Daryl W, owner of Whittco & Meiso, Inc, replied not only with an apology for her delayed response but inquired about the carpets' age, condition and if the carpets needed any special attention.  She also provided an estimate for the rug cleaning services based upon the dimensions that I shared.  She offered another option if I brought my rugs to their warehouse and pre-paid for services, she'd give me a 25% discount.  The quote (based upon dimensions) was reasonable to me, but I did expect a realistic quote after their inspection. Fortunately, we didn't have any other appointments or errands on Thursday, so I arranged to drop off our rugs.  They were easy to find in Hālawa Valley, and we arrived at our anticipated time.  A male worker greeted us as we walked up to their driveway and asked for Daryl.   He knew our last name since we made an appointment, and he called Daryl, who was in her office.  He accompanied us to our car to carry the rugs out from our backseat.  They unfurled each of our carpets and inspected them with a checklist while pointing out humidity spots, excessive wear, and stains to us.  We agreed with their assessment, the new quote with a discount (which wasn't much different from sight unseen), and pre-paid.  Daryl estimated a week before getting our rugs back. We picked up rugs yesterday, and they all look fantastic!  The carpets look fresh, clean, and almost like new.   Daryl had cautioned us about several stains that she noted during the visual inspection, which possibly couldn't be removed entirely, but we could barely see them. I highly recommend them to anyone who has carpet cleaning needs.  Their other services include mothproofing, upholstery cleaning, commercial carpet maintenance, rug repairs, mending-refringing, deodorizing and more.

This company is run by very nice people who are helpful and kind.  We used them several times in the past to clean our area rug and it is returned to us always clean and never damaged.  Great services at great prices.

I contacted Whittco & Meisco, Inc after seeing some YouTube videos on how a rug is professionally cleaned using a deep immersion process because my DIY methods to clean up after my dog's accidents just weren't cutting it anymore. I contemplated cleaning the rugs myself in my driveway after watching a whole other series of DIY rug cleaning videos on YouTube, but the issue wasn't the cleaning itself, it's the drying process, which can take days and the rugs weigh hundreds of pounds when wet. I didn't think I had much of an option though because it was looking like everyone in Hawaii does carpet cleanings with the vacuum type machines, not the deep immersion process I was looking for. I didn't want to use the vacuum method because it still leaves the rugs slightly damp and it doesn't clean the rugs deeply enough for pet urine and stains where you want to completely get a dog's scent out so they don't repeat or mark the area again. Suffice to say, I was delighted that Whittco & Meiso does professional rug cleanings using the deep immersion process. Their rates are also very reasonable, and they pickup and deliver. I'm extremely satisfied with the job they did on my two rugs and two runners, and have recommended them to all my friends and family. They even went above and beyond because the same day I got my rugs back, I spilled kim chee and spicy korean ramen on the largest rug! I called Whittco & Meiso the next day and they picked it up right away and got the stains out, so you can't even tell, which was really important because I didn't want my dog to get chili pepper flakes in his eyes or nose. My extra large area rug took on some water from a recent leak that I had in my condo and I was having some difficulty getting it fully dried. A musty odor developed which also made things worse. I reached out to Whittco & Meiso to see if they could help me out. To my surprise they were very responsive and even provided a discount if I brought my rug down to the shop. Needless to say, the rug was ready in just about a week (around the holiday season) and I could not have been more happier with the result. There was absolutely no odor and it was as good as new! I highly recommend not going the DIY route and to just reach out to a licensed professional, you will not regret it.

I purchased this 60 plus year old rug from an Estate sale. I don't think it had ever been cleaned and it was dirty and dusty. I had high hopes she could come back to life and they were able to accomplish that. I highly recommend them for any area rug cleaning. A friendly local family run business that's so important to support at this time. You won't be disappointed!!!!

I just got back my antique Chinese wool cut pile rug, We played on it as children, brought back from China by my mom who left Hawaii to study at Ling Nan University in Guangzhou in the 1920's. A dark stain in one. corner had been impossible to clean so I had Darryl the owner cut it and serge a border perimeter  on each side of the rug reducing its 9x12 size to 8'x10'...great since it fit perfectly in my living room. Great cleaning and trimming of a cherished rug as always!

I searched Yelp and called this company who informed me that I could bring it to them right away. When I got there, they rolled it fully out and they noticed dark brown stains on it which I couldn't even tell what it was. They said they would try their best to get it out. They gave me a discount since I brought it in myself. A week later I was able to pick it up. I'm only posting this now because I laid out my rug today after cleaning up my living room. Look how beautiful and clean it looks.

I’d definitely recommend this company to everyone. Also found out they offer carpet/flooring installation for commercial and residential.

Excellent cleaning, trustworthy and affordable! Thoroughly cleaned puppy pee spot on chaise lounger mattress. Will definitely be a repeat customer should the need arise.
