Can my rugs be cleaned at home instead of going to your shop?

A more inexperienced cleaner will tell you that this is fine to do. We strongly disagree. Permanent dye bleed and brittle texture change caused by hot water and the high pH pre-sprays used in wall-to-wall carpet cleaning is what we see most often after improper cleaning at home. In addition, rugs cleaned at home are subject to a very slow drying process which results in musty odors and mold.

If the reason for cleaning is pet urine and odor, this kind of surface cleaning will not remove or treat the problem effectively. Instead, the hot water extraction process may actually exacerbate the issue!

Our rug cleaning shop is a designated space outfitted with all the proper equipment necessary to safely and effectively clean and dry your rugs without risk of damage or discoloration.
